Hello again friends,
Wow. The weekend is upon us already. Where did the time go? Thought I’d pop on tonight to post one last post before next week. I’m off for the weekend, heading east to visit my guy. A nice weekend trip..always too short if you ask me.. and this one, I’m sure will fly by that much faster. So with him in mind, here’s another Valentines Day card.. more subdued than the last.. but still a piece of my heart…Did I happen to mention that I {heart}K&Company papers…only about a DOZEN or so times by now… well, this card is no exception…
Soft pastel pinks, creams.. bit of lacy trim…another of my handmade flowers…I’m finding use for all my edgings I tell you! Some distressed, glittery grunge board care of Tim Holtz (who doesn’t love his products?!) How surprising…there’s my fave P.T.I text in the background with a swirly flirty sentiment from Signature Greetings.. another set that’s becoming my fave too.. I love how Dawn’s handwriting mixes with the font.. delish! 😀
I hear it’s going to be chilly heading to SK…I hate leaving our beautiful weather in BC…but it will be a wonderful weekend for sure.
Hope y’all have a fantastic weekend.. hope to see you all here next week!
Time to get packin’…
Night!!

Birthdays abound!
Happy first day of November. Geesh! Where has the time gone? Thanksgiving passes, pumpkins are carved, the leaves changing colours…. all happened too fast. On to windy, wet winters here on the west coast, definitely not my favourite time of the year.
Onto things card related; birthday cards on top of birthday cards. I’m beginning to think all I can make are birthday cards. Time to shake up the mix!

This one uses a bunch of mediums; inks, papers, grunge board embellishments, paint, buttons…. all things to make this girl smile. I love the soft colours, they suit each other well.

I’m off to get back to work on many card orders:) Keeping busy keeps me happy:)
Thanks for stopping by for a peek!

Happy World Card Making day from a grey, drizzly day here in BC…Fall is upon us, and so is the rainy season. I’m sure the pumpkins in the fields are drinking in the rain, but I’d rather see Mr. Sunshine! Since it’s such a grey day, I thought I’d share something that makes me cheery. It’s one of my latest creative ‘experiments’. I’ve been playing around with some new techniques (and getting acquainted with the old Singer sewing machine) to add dimension to my projects. I’m quite happy with the way this one turned out, but I think there’s still room for improvement…as always. Creating is a process for me. I learn what does and doesn’t work..its all about the journey.

I mixed up some patterned paper with some tea-stained sheet music. I used some Prima papers(how I love those) from the Nursery Tales line, fought with the sewing machine and stitched them all together before adding them to the cream cardstock. That lovely blue, distressed embellishment and key are grungeboard…they are virtually indistructable and oh, how I adore them. I decided that the key looked pretty lonely by itself so I added it to a soft cream felt background and use the old pinking shears for some pizzaz.

I hope where ever you are the sun is shining. I’m off to enjoy what I can out of this grey day. Maybe pick up a good book and get cozy. We’ll see..
Have a great day! Create a card for WCMD!! Create..dream..explore!

A big HELLO to all:)

It certainly has been a long while since I last posted hasn’t it. I’ve been so busy with work, school and general life…I promise to have some up to date posts coming up. I’ve been busy creating. Got some new Tim Holtz goodies, and have some PTI and Basic Grey goodies coming my way in the mail..Oh boy. Be still my heart… the creating that is to come *drool*
Anyways…
Here’s a sweet card I have been playing around with. A pretty in pink birthday card…

Prima papers, grungeboard cutouts( my new favourite embellishments.. you can do pretty much anything to them..paint, stamp, emboss, distress… limitless ideas) ribbon and half pearls..

I painted the cutouts and distressed them so they didnt look so ‘new’.. I wanted a more aged look and feel for the card.. Distress ink around the edges.. don’t you just love it..

Well that’s all I have for today.. needed a bit of cheer after this rainy, grey day. I’ll be back soon with more posts. Thanks for stopping by!

So lately I’ve been obsessed with making these distressed looking flowers. I was blog surfing (my favourite blogs) and came across a tutorial to make your own! If you wanna check it out click >HERE< This is one talented lady!! She really brightens my day when I read her blog. Here is an attempt of mine:I used construction paper instead of card stock. I find that it doesn’t hold as well as card stock, but I still love the over all effect.

Here’s a close up of the flower.. complete with mini brads.

If you hold the card in the right light you can see ‘bloom’ stamped on the distressed leaves. Go ahead. Give it a try. You might be surprised with the results!

Take time to stop and smell (or make) the flowers.
